Economic Outlook Breakfast

October 13, 2010

The Evanston Chamber is proud to be a co-host–along with Evanston Inventure, Downtown Evanston and the City of Evanston (wow, that’s a lot of Evanstons)–of the Economic Outlook Breakfast. Charles Evans, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, will discuss our regional and national economic climate, as well as trends for the next year.

Please join us at the Hilton Garden Inn (1818 Maple Avenue, Evanston) on Tuesday, October 19 at 8:30am. Continental breakfast will be served.

Please see the Event Flyer to register for this fantastic event.

Welcome Make It Better!

September 11, 2010

We’d like to welcome Make It Better as a new member…

Patti Augustyn and Megan Holbrook make up their Evanston ad sales force, and they’ll be attending the Evanston Business Mash Up. Keep an eye out for them!

Despite being relatively new, they are now the premier magazine on the North Shore, and we look forward to working with them.

Ladies and Gentlemen, start your Evanston.

The Evanston Chamber is hereby staking our claim in the so-called blogosphere, a level of the atmosphere within the internetosphere, just under the socialmediasphere and just above the chamberofcommercosphere. This cannot be confirmed in any natural science textbooks, so don’t even try.

I am Brooke Saucier, the possessor of a very long title here at the ECofC: Manager of Membership, Marketing & Development. The ‘Marketing’ aspect of my portfolio is where this blog falls into, as I will be marketing not only the chamber, but our members as well. This will hopefully trickle into the ‘Membership’ portion of my business card, as the words ‘satisfied’ and ‘brand-new’ will be attached to a greater number of our members.

I plan to use this blog as a sounding board for just about anything: business ideas, business news, job seekers, job opportunities, public announcements and other random, (hopefully) funny tidbits from my days on the Evanston beat. I hope that YOU use this blog as well…make comments, post your posts, make your voice heard. You are the Evanston business community–whether you own your business here, do your shopping here, raise your children here, work here, live here–and I want you to put your best faces forward…right here.
